Daily Cup
In June of 2022 I took a class in wheel throwing ceramics and became very interested in learning the skill. The daily cup is an outgrowth of that practice. I intend to complete one stoneware mug every day in 2024. Each mug will be functional and completed in the green ware form, and posted daily. They will then be glazed and fired, all forms different according to my impulse that day. I plan to accumulate 365 cups for a future installation and sale.
I am attracted to the cup form as a very intimate object that is basic to human need and vulnerability. Each cup is crafted with the idea of nurturing and sustaining its’ user. I think of them as blessing and sustaining the user as I create them, each carefully handmade and unique.
